For 12,000 years we were an organic agricultural society. Then in the 1950’s (yes, only 60-70 years ago) we thought we had a better way than Nature’s Way. But even through the “miracles” of chemistry, a few persisted in keeping the organic truth alive… Gardening using Nature’s systems is better than any system man can create. Thank goodness for people like Bob Rodale!
“The organic system of gardening is much different than the spray-and-kill approach. To understand the difference, think of chemical gardening as treatment-focused and organic gardening as a preventive system. The chemical method offers people powerful ways to kill intruders after they appear. But experienced organic growers handle their soil and plants in a way that prevents many of the problems from happening in the first place.” – Bob Rodale
